The Mabuchi International Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in 1990 by Mabuchi Motor Co., Ltd, a leading manufacturer of small electric motors. The foundation aims to contribute to the development of society by supporting promising students from developing countries who wish to pursue advanced studies in Japan.

The foundation provides scholarships to outstanding students who have been accepted by Japanese universities or graduate schools. The scholarships cover tuition, living expenses, and travel costs for the duration of the student’s study in Japan. The foundation also offers support for Japanese language study and cultural experiences.

The scholarship program is open to students from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, who are under the age of 30 and have a strong academic record and a demonstrated commitment to contributing to their home country’s development. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and be proficient in either English or Japanese.

The Mabuchi International Scholarship Foundation has awarded scholarships to hundreds of students since its establishment and has played an important role in promoting international education and understanding.

Eligible Nationalities:

This scholarship is open to international students.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Those who are financially in need and have difficulty attending school (household income less than 5 million yen)

3. Those who have Japanese language proficiency required for university study (generally N2 or higher)
