Tampere University seeks to recognise its most merited, high-achieving and motivated students. Tampere University Scholarships Programme is available for application for students who are required to pay tuition fees in bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes offered in English.

Finland scholarships awarded by Tampere University are part of the national Finland Scholarship programme which is available until 2024. Applicants to master’s programmes are eligible to apply. Finland scholarships are awarded at Tampere University to the most merited applicant in each master’s programme.

Finland scholarships cover the programme tuition fee for the first year of studies and include a 5000 € relocation grant, paid to the student’s Finnish bank account after the student has arrived in Tampere and started studies at Tampere University.

In addition, Tampere University awards a Tampere University tuition fee scholarship for the second year of studies to all recipients of the Finland scholarship. The scholarship covers 100 % of tuition fees in the second year of studies.

Tampere University tuition fee scholarships

Tampere University tuition fee scholarship is an exclusive opportunity awarded to a limited number of the best-performing applicants in each programme.

Tampere University tuition fee scholarships awarded at admission cover 100% of the tuition fees for the programme duration. The programme duration is

  • three years for bachelor’s degrees
  • two years for master’s degrees
  • five years if the study right is granted for both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.

The prerequisite for retaining the Tampere University tuition fee scholarship throughout the programme duration is progressing in studies at the normative pace. In order to retain the full tuition fee scholarship in the following year of studies, the recipient must complete at least 55 credits during the academic year as detailed in the personal study plan. If a scholarship recipient completes 50-54 credits during the academic year, his or her scholarship will be reduced to 50% in the following academic year. If a scholarship recipient completes less than 50 credits during the academic year, he or she will be charged the full tuition fee in the following academic year. These conditions also apply to the Tampere University tuition fee scholarship awarded for the second year of studies to recipients of the Finland scholarship.
