The IEEE History Center offers two annual programs of support, a full-year graduate fellowship and a summer visiting scholarship, that are being offered again for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The IEEE Life Member History Fellowship supports one year of full-time graduate work or one year of post-doctoral research for a scholar in this field who has received his or her Ph.D. within the past four years in the history of engineering and related fields.
The Elizabeth & Emerson Pugh Young Scholar in Residence at the IEEE History Center is intended for: scholars at the beginning or middle of their career studying the history of technology and engineering or a related field, advanced undergraduates, or graduate students. It supports two months of residence (usually the summer) at the IEEE History Center in Piscataway, NJ, USA, where Scholar undertakes a project for the History Center that meshes with their own research program. Note that in 2022 it is hope that the Scholar will be able to be in residence at the IEEE History Center. However, should the global health situation not permit this, arrangements will be made for remote collaboration.
