FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS
Trinity College attempts to provide financial support for students who need it, so that they may have time to study. All students are eligible to apply for need-based bursaries. Please speak to the Dean of Divinity about this possibility.
Currently, we are able to provide financial assistance up to the following for eligible students:
- Master of Theological Studies (MTS): up to 70% of domestic tuition cost
- Master of Divinity (MDiv): up to 100% of domestic tuition cost for those seriously considering ordination in the Anglican Church of Canada
- Master of Theology (ThM) and Master of Arts (MA): up to $6,000
- Doctor of Divinity (DMin) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD): at least $6,000 annual for the first four years of the program
Doctoral Students: There are up to five doctoral fellowship packages awarded each year valued between $1,500 and $10,000. These fellowship packages are renewable for up to four years of study, provided the winner makes normal progress towards the doctorate. Doctoral students (PhD and DMin) are also eligible for junior fellowships that are given out on a competitive basis and for teaching assistantships (PhD). Each applicant will be considered for a fellowship with Trinity College.
For students who have investigated other sources of funding, and still have a small shortfall within the context of a sensible budget, the College has available funds which may be awarded to students in good standing. The amount of the award will be determined by need, and will not, except in extraordinary circumstances, exceed the maximum award limit set each year by the Bursary Committee. Applications for assistance are normally considered in May, September, and December. For more information on Trinity’s financial support speak to the Dean of Divinity.
