Programme History
A programme for young and mid-career professionals sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. The Humphrey Fellowship Program has received funding as a Fulbright exchange activity from the U.S. Congress since 1978 to honor the public service career of the late Senator and Vice President, Hubert H. Humphrey (1911-1978).
Since 1978, more than 6,000 Fellows from 157 countries have participated in the programme hosted by more than 40 universities.
Basic Eligibility Criteria
- An undergraduate (first university or Bachelor’s) degree
- A minimum of five years of full-time, professional experience
- Limited or no prior experience in the United States
- Demonstrated leadership qualities
- A record of public service in the community
- English language ability
