1. Set Your Goal: Many people set out their goal without thinking why they are applying for a scholarship. Some will say because of the beauty of traveling abroad. But a better reason could be that you want to be part of one of the best teachings or information needed to be one of the best.
2. Determine what countries and universities: Do you want to study in the USA, Canada, Europe, South America, Africa, the Caribbean or Asia-Pacific? You have to be specific in your choice of countries and universities. Also ask yourself: Why am I choosing this or that country and university? That is why it is very important to take your time and read about the country as well as university information; you do not just wake up and start dreaming of a land.
3. Determine what type of scholarship you want: Do you know the types of Scholarship abroad? E.g. Government, Industry or Institutional/ Organizational scholarship (UNESCO/WORLD BANK), or are you looking for a fully funded or partial scholarship? Scholarship is not having everything to pay for. Some cover tuition, living expenses and accommodation while others cover just your tuition fee, and you have to pay for the rest. Try them out and apply!
4. Check the Eligibility and Requirements for Selection: All scholarships are different and have different eligibility criteria and requirements for selection. Be sure that you are able to provide anything that is required. Prepare and gather your entire documents needed such as Curriculum Vitae, personal Statements, Cover letter, Research Proposal, Transcripts, Language Proficiency Documents, Certain exam results like GMAT and GRE, recommendation letters and application forms.
