You must apply to an admission to an undergraduate degree program before you can apply for any entrance scholarships. Application for admissions and scholarships opens on October 1, 2019.   • International Entrance Leadership Scholarship

    Value: $5,000
    Well-rounded students with admission averages of 80%+ studying on a Study Permit  will be assessed for scholarships to recognize their accomplishments through leadership qualities as demonstrated by involvement in extracurricular and community activities and academic standing.

    Documentation required for admission must be submitted for scholarship consideration by the scholarship deadline as outlined above. This includes transcripts showing all completed courses, grades to date and proof of English Language Proficiency (see Transcript and Document Requirements).

  • University of Alberta Centenary Scholarship

    Value: Variable from $20,000; payable over four years

    Awarded to students on a Study Permit with superior academic achievement entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Alberta. Selection based on academic standing and demonstrated leadership qualities based on involvement in extracurricular and community activities.

    Recipient(s) of this scholarship are ineligible to receive the University of Alberta China, India or USA Centenary Scholarships.

    Documentation required for admission must be submitted for scholarship consideration by the scholarship deadline as outlined above. This includes transcripts showing all completed courses, grades to date and proof of English Language Proficiency (see Transcript and Document Requirements). 

  • University of Alberta Global Citizenship Scholarship for IB Diploma International Students

    Value: Tuition and $16,000 to a maximum of $40,000 per year for four years

    Awarded to student(s) on Study Permit(s) from Aga Khan Academies operating under the AKA agency of the Aga Khan Development Network, with superior academic achievement, entering the first year of an undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta. Selection is based on International Baccalaureate Diploma academic standing, demonstrated financial need, and demonstrated leadership.

    Please note students applying to begin their studies in September 2020 must be students at the AKA Mombasa campus or the AKA Hyderabad campus in order to be eligible for this scholarship.

    Students will first complete the separate awards application. All students eligible for this award will then receive an additional application form via email. The separate awards application must be completed by 11:59 PM MST, Dec. 11, 2019. You must submit an application to study at UAlberta before you will be able to apply for awards.

Admission-based scholarships – no application required!

  • Campus Saint-Jean International Scholarship

    Awarded to student(s) with superior academic achievement entering the first year of any undergraduate degree program offered by Campus Saint-Jean, who are studying on a Student Visa Permit. Selection based on academic standing and demonstrated financial need.

    Offers will be made June – August 2019

  • Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation Award for International Students
  • International Student Scholarship

    Value: Up to $9,000; payable over four years

    Awarded to students with superior academic achievement entering into their first undergraduate degree program, studying on a Student Visa Permit. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievement. Should a renewable scholarship be offered, receipt of funding for the second, third, or fourth years is contingent upon achieving a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a full normal course load at the University of Alberta each year.

    Recipients will be notified of their award offer after receiving an admission offer from UAlberta.

  • University of Alberta Gold Standard Scholarship

    Value: Up to $6,000

    The top 5% of students in each faculty could receive up to $6,000, depending on admission average.

    University of Alberta Gold Standard Scholarship offers will be made throughout the year.

    Recipients will be notified of their award offer after receiving an admission offer from UAlberta.

  • University of Alberta International Country Scholarship

    Value: Up to $5,000

    Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the first year of an undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta who are studying on a Study Permit. Selection based on academic standing with preference given to students from University of Alberta target regions. Students sponsored by a third party are ineligible.

    Recipients will be notified of their award offer after receiving an admission offer from UAlberta.
